Smart light protects home

January 12, 2018

A discrete new lantern-style porch light could be a high-tech add-on for home renovations: it acts as a first-response burglar alarm. The lamp is armed with motion detectors, a high-resolution video camera, and two-way speaker system connected to your smartphone.
The Maximum Craftsman Smart Security Light installs like an ordinary porch light, but its link to the cloud-based Kuna app makes it something else all together.
From your phone you can view anyone at the door. For example, if a courier arrives while you’re away from home, you can talk to the courier and make arrangements. If a burglar shows up, you can notify the police and take a video of the intruder. You can also save and recall the video.
The Maximum Craftsman Smart Security Light requires a Bluetooth-enabled iOS or Android mobile device and WiFi or cable connection. It retails in Canada for $279.99.
