Central Alberta HBA Honours Best and Brightest

RED DEER — The Central Alberta Home Builders’ Association announced the winners of its 2009 Awards of Excellence in Housing this week. The hardware was handed out at the 2009 Awards Gala, April 25th, in the Waskasoo Ballroom of the Red Deer Lodge. Over 250 builders, guests and dignitaries were in attendance for the event. The Awards of Excellence in Housing recognize the most creative work and professional accomplishments in aspects of the region’s housing industry.
In Category 1 — Best New Home: Single Family Bungalow/Bi-Level Model with or without Garage — Colbray Homes won for the up to $224,999 sub-category. Avalon Central Alberta was the winner in the $300,000 - $349,999 slice.
In Category 2 — Best New Home: Single Family Two Storey/Split Level Model with or without Garage — Unique Elevations won for the $350,000 - $424,999 sub-category, while Mason Martin Homes was the winner between $425,000 - $549,999
There were several multiple award winners. Platinum Homes and Developments took home the prize in the $225,000 - $259,999 segment of Category 1 as well as the Small Volume Builder of the Year Award. True-Line Contracting won in the $260,000 - $300,000 and $425,000 - $549,999 divisions of Category 1. Sorento Custom Homes took the over $500,000 division of Category 1 as well as the $550,000 - $749,999 segment of Category 2. Laebon Homes took home the Green Vision Award along with the $350,000 - $424,999 segment of Category 1. Abbey Master Builders were acknowledged as the Large Volume Builder of the Year and were also singled out in the under $224,999 division of Category 2. Falcon Homes rounded out the multiple award winners, taking the $260,000 - $299,999 segment in Category 2 along with the Best New Home: Multi-Family Townhouse/Duplex Model under $324,999 award.
Other winners included Avalon Master Builder which won the Built Green Builder Award, Henry’s Eavestroughing Ltd. which was named Trade of the Year, Westdeck Inc. for being the Trade/Supplier of the Year, and Howard and Company Real Estate Appraisals which was honoured as Professional Service of the Year.
