VANCOUVER —The 16th annual Parade of Renovated Homes will be taking place in towns across the province on Sunday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature 17 professionally renovated homes this year — the most ever for this event.
This year’s projects will showcase leading-edge design, advanced construction techniques and innovative building products. They include a complete transformation of a Mission rancher, restoration of a 1906 Kitsilano craftsman-style bungalow and extreme facelifts of a variety of homes built over the last 90 years.
“Professional renovators, many of them award winners, will be on site to offer expert advice and discuss their craftsmanship. Projects range from $70,000 to more than $700,000, offering people an abundance of ideas they can possibly incorporate into their own renovations,” said Daine Halley, GVHBA Renovation Council Chair, in a press release.
Admission is $10 per person and children under 17 enter for free. Admission passports can be purchased at any of the home locations and grant you access to all other parade homes. A portion of the proceeds will go to help fund the purchase of tools, building materials and safety equipment for a carpentry training program offered by Guildford Park and Frank Hurt secondary schools in Surrey.
