CAN-BEST is opening a new facility in Maple Ridge
MAPLE RIDGE, BC – Canadian Building Envelope Science and Technology (CAN-BEST) announced yesterday that they will be opening a new office in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Dubbed “CAN-BEST West”, the new office will provide state-of-the-art testing services to the building construction industries in Western Canada and the US. Jeff Cooke, PhD, will serve as general manager of the new facility. Founded in 1985, CAN-BEST provides full-service building envelope research and testing, specializing in windows, doors, insulating glass, curtain walls and EIFS systems. The company is fully accredited to ISO 17025 Standard by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and has its head offices in Brampton, Ontario.
Dow Converts to Zero Ozone-Depleting, no-VOC Foaming Agent Technology
MIDLAND, MI – Dow Building Solutions announced today that its facility in Varennes, Quebec, which manufactures STYROFOAM Brand Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) foam insulation has converted to its new zero ozone-depleting, no-volatile organic compound (VOC) foaming agent technology.
The facility in Varennes marks the third conversion for Dow, but its first in Canada. The changes were required under the Montreal Protocol.
Dow’s new proprietary technology delivers the same R-5/inch insulation value, moisture resistance and compressive strength as the previous iteration.
