TORONTO – Rebecca Evans of Midhaven Homes will be the next president of the Durham Region Home Builders’ Association.
The DRHBA also named its new board for 2009-2010. They are: Rebecca Evans, president; Frank MacPhee, past president; Jeff Goldman, 1st vice president; Steve Snider, 2nd vice president; Donna Donaldson, executive officer; Phyllis Dupuis, secretary/treasurer; and directors Wayne Clarke; Brian Couperthwaite; Emidio Di Palo; Mike Di Palo; Mirko Favit; Heather Hreljac; Jennifer Hurd; John Lucyk; Phil Lucchese; Rick Siblock; Kevin Stewart; Marianne Tracey; Peter Watson; Gord Wallace; and presidential appointees Scott Jeffery and Drew Dowling.
“It is a great honour to serve as the 56th President of the Durham Region Home Builders’ Association,” said Evans at the President’s Gala, on November 28th at Tosca Banquet Centre in Whitby. “I am grateful to the Board, the Executive and to our membership for their confidence in me to lead our Association through the next year.”
Evans has been involved in the new home construction industry for 18 years, including the past 10 years at Midhaven Homes where her duties have encompassed a wide spectrum including scheduling, contracts, bookkeeping, customer service and now senior project manager and health and safety officer. She’s also served six years on the DRHBA board of directors where she has successfully organized its annual trade show, chaired the association’s Builders’ Council as well as advocating fairness and transparency in development charges across the various municipalities and the region itself in the promotion of more affordable housing.
