TORONTO - The November edition of the Altus Group Housing Report reviewed the results of the Toronto Board of Trade’s First Scorecard on Prosperity. Some of the results of that report were that Calgary boasts the strongest economic growth in the country – tying with Hong Kong for top spot among the 16 cities examined. Calgary was singled out for its performance in such areas as employment, disposable income growth and total tax index.
Toronto ranked eighth. Productivity growth was found to be low in all Canadian markets reviewed in the report. Calgary was also found to have the fastest growing population.
Also in the November edition of the Altus Group Housing Report, the housing market performances of Chicago and Toronto were compared. The report finds that Toronto outperformed the Windy City in a number of key areas such as overall economy, current housing market conditions, overall labour attractiveness and recent population growth.
The report also examined the performance of the national housing market in October.
