Details of Saskatchewan Conference Announced

January 19, 2009

OTTAWA - The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation released details regarding The Road to Recovery, its 2010 Saskatchewan Housing Outlook Conference, which is to be held at the Saskatoon Radisson Hotel on February 17, 2010.
Saskatchewan was one of the harder hit provinces through the 2008-09 recession. As a result, the conference is aiming to examine the market’s response in 2010.
Some of the questions which will be examined are:
“Will 2010 represent the beginning of an expansionary phase in home ownership and rental demand, or will the province’s housing markets face a further downward adjustment? When will the recovery gain momentum? Are we in for a period of flat growth, or another sharp upswing in sales, housing starts, home prices, and rents?”
Speakers at the event will include Richard Corriveau (Market Analysis Centre Manager – CMHC), Lai Sing Louie (Regional Economist – CMHC), Bob Dugan (Chief Economist – CMHC), Paul Caton (Senior Market Analyst – CMHC), Regine Durand (Market Analyst – CMHC), Pete Korogonas (Market Analyst – CMHC), and Alan G. Wallace (Manager of Neighbourhood Planning, Planning and Development Branch – City of Saskatoon).
To register: visit www.cmhc.ca/conferenceregistration or call 1-800-668-2642.
