BILD Hosts 7th Annual Charity BBQ for Habitat for Humanity Toronto

GREATER TORONTO - July 27, 2011 – Members of the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) raised more than $32,000 in support of Habitat for Humanity Toronto at a July 7th charity BBQ event.
The BILD Charity BBQ has become an annual tradition for the Association, with this year’s fundraiser seen as one of the most successful since BILD first fired up the grills 19 years ago. A large portion of the success can be attributed to the second annual Race for Humanity – an ‘amazing race’ style rally conceived and implemented by the Toronto Star and In2ition Marketing Insights – which saw over 100 participants race about the City, including a penultimate stop at Habitat’s headquarters before crossing the finish line at the Charity BBQ to enjoy further fundraising activities.
“It just goes to show you that the building industry really cares about giving back to the community,” said BILD President and CEO Stephen Dupuis. BILD would like to thank all the event sponsors, prize donors, volunteers and guests for all the fundraising support and congratulate everyone involved on a highly successful event.
