Record Numbers Registered for Home Renovation Seminar

GREATER TORONTO - They say third time's a charm - and in this case it's true. The Building Industry and Land Development Association's third annual Party for Humanity was a smash hit, bringing together more than 500 professionals from across the industry to raise more than $25,000 for Habitat for Humanity Toronto.
“The main beneficiary of the event is our community partner, Habitat, which provides affordable housing for low-income families in the city. BILD members also opened up their hearts and their wallets in support of the Dupuis family this year,” said BILD Acting President Joe Vaccaro.
The event was held November 18 at the Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District. A special tribute video was created in memory of BILD President and CEO Stephen Dupuis, who passed away suddenly on September 23, 2011. Dupuis was the mastermind behind the original Party for Humanity and the Habitat for Humanity partnership.
For the duration of the event, large white stars dangled from the ceiling inside the venue and a logo belonging to a BILD member company adorned each star. The star sponsorship program was created to support the Dupuis Education Fund, which has raised more than $270,000 for his children, Kendall and Carson.
