Remembering Marg Forbes: A Life of Courage, Ambition and Integrity
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Margaret Forbes, our colleague, our teacher and the Chief Financial Officer of the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders’ Association and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Saskatchewan and all our affiliates. Our thoughts are with the Forbes Family during this difficult time.
Marg was always excited by what our Associations were doing to make a difference in lives, in communities, in business and in Saskatchewan. In the few years as CFO for our Associations and all our affiliates, Marg made a significant and positive impact and will always be remembered as a source of strength, experience and knowledge.
Marg had over twenty years of experience working as a Chartered Accountant and as a University Professor teaching accounting and mentoring leaders. In 2007 she left her position at the University of Saskatchewan as the Director of the Masters of Professional Accounting Program to dedicate herself full time to her consultancy practice, The Forbes Solution. Marg was also a professional speaker and workshop facilitator in the areas of generational differences and emotional intelligence, subjects she became interested in during her years of teaching.
Marg had such an impact on all of us and our organizations and we are stronger for having had her with us. We offer our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Peter, her husband and partner, her family and all that were close to her. Marg will be missed but never forgotten.
Sincerely,
Alan Thomarat, President & CEO
