New Home Builders to Focus on Leading at Lake Louise Conference
OTTAWA — New builders and renovators will focus on leading—why it matters more than ever—at the 70th Annual National Canadian Home Builders’ Association Conference in Lake Louise, Alberta, March 7 – 9, 2013.
The Conference, bringing together Canada’s community of residential housing expertise, will be based at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Incoming President Deep Shergill of Calgary will outline the CHBA priorities for the coming year in his Inaugural Address, a feature of the Conference on March 8.
The CHBA’s economic session, featuring internationally renowned demographer Wendell Cox, will examine the requirements for enhancing housing affordability and choice. After his presentation, CHBA’s economic panel will take a strategic look at housing conditions. The panel includes Peter Norman, Chief Economist, Research, Valuation & Advisory, Altus Group Economic Consulting, and Mathieu Laberge, Deputy Chief Economist with CMHC’s Market Analysis Centre.
Guest speakers include Dr John Izzo, author of Stepping Up: How Taking Responsibility Changes Everything and Dr Piers Steel, Distinguished Research Chair in Advanced Leadership at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business.
The 2012 National SAM Awards, the industry’s premier annual celebration of excellence in new homes, renovations, community development, and sales and marketing, will be presented on the evening of March 8.
