CHBA-CVI Home Builders Auction Nets $500 for Habitat for Humanity
NANAIMO — Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island (HFHMVI) recently accepted a donation of $500 donation from the Canadian Home Builders' Association Central Vancouver Island (CHBA-CVI) from their "Love Your Home" Speaker Series and Trade Show at the North Nanaimo Town Centre on February 15th. The donation comes from silent auction during the event.
"The Canadian Home Builders' Association is proud to support our Members", said Dayna Aysals, Executive Director, CHBA. "After all of the hard work that the Vancouver Island University Entry Level Carpentry program did to build the Habitat for Humanity duplex in Nanaimo, we wanted to help support the building students and future Habitat projects in our community."
The VIU students contributed over 10,000 hours to the duplex project at 553/555 Prideaux Street. The two families moved in at the end of January. Visit www.habitatmvi.org for more information.
