Real estate pros meet in boxing ring

Twenty-four competitive members of Greater Toronto’s real estate industry will square off during amateur boxing matches in November for a charity fundraiser for imagine1day, which aids Ethiopian education projects.
The Toronto Real Estate Rumble is the result of partnership between Clancy’s Boxing Academy’s Michael Clancy, Garrison Hill Developments’ Marcel Greaux, Foundry Mortgage Capital’s Brennan Wood, and Concrete Mortgage’s Daniel Mandel.
All of the boxers must have amateur status and have taken at least 12 weeks of training.
The event will be held November 22 at CBC’s Studio 40 in Toronto. It promises to have a big fight-night atmosphere, right down to ring card girls, announcer, and customized entrance music for the boxers who will be both male and female.
“The Toronto real estate industry is ripe for an event that will engage the aggressive nature of the business while bringing the industry together to network in a social setting and support a charity that will help impact the transformation of a nation on the other side of the planet,” said Garrison Hill's Marcel Greaux in a prepared statement. The goal is to raise $50,000 through the Toronto Real Estate Rumble, he said. Each boxer is to raise at least $1,000 through pledges, with the rest coming from gate receipts and sponsors.
