CREA upgrades its website

Perhaps partly in preparation for a Competition Tribunal ruling that realtors must publicly release selling prices on residential property, the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has completed the first major upgrade of its realtor.calisting website in years.
There are a number of improvements to the site, which has about 264 million visits annually as the largest real estate property search portal in Canada. There is more information on school catchment areas, for instance, an upgraded mortgage calculator, and easier links to individual agents and real estate companies. There is even a new realtor blog commenting on housing market issues.
CREA said the refreshed site targets desktop users—not mobile applications—but added it is part of a “multi-phase project to improve the website.” This could, in future, possibly include information on home sale prices that are now available on many smaller search sites such as Zoocasa.
