Kitchen trends to watch in 2022

February 4, 2022

Aya farm fusion

Toronto-based AyA Kitchens, a leading Canadian cabinetry manufacturer, says the top kitchen trends for 20221 focus on “health, sustainable quality and a touch of country charm.”
According to AyA’s 2022 Trend Report, this translates into more use of warm-toned wood, such as Maple and Cherry, for cabinets and accents.
Yet, and this should prove interesting to renovation contractors, AyA also says there is a movement to fully custom-designed kitchens.” One size fits all is no longer an option,” according to a company release.
A custom trend is a move away from stark, sleek modern design to what AyA calls ‘farmhouse fusion.” This new contemporary look merges refined thin rails, rustic-style pulls on wood cabinets, which are white or light-toned wood.
